Tom Sawyer Camps has been in operation since 1926 and has helped hundreds of young adults prepare for their adult lives with the experiences they had with us. Some of the top skills your future employers are looking for will be learned by being a camp counselor. Join our team! We are currently hiring School Year Counselors, Wranglers and Operations Crew!
Tom Sawyer Camps offers Saturday Camp and Holiday Camp throughout the year. We depend on our staff to make each afternoon a quality experience for the campers. Staff lead games and activities and work on developing meaningful relationships with each camper. Wranglers provide safe and engaging introductions to horseback riding. Operations Crew provides care for our horse herd and their environment.
Saturday Camp: Saturdays from 8:30-2:00pm in Hahamongna Watershed Park.
Wranglers: Monday-Saturday. 45 minute lessons and trail rides in Hahamongna Watershed Park.
Operations Crew: Monday-Sunday. Early mornings and some afternoons in Hahamongna Watershed Park. Feed and care of horse herd and property.
Being a counselor is an excellent opportunity for local students who want a flexible, fulfilling and FUN part-time job!
Currently in 11th grade or older
Required to complete Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR (with AED) certification prior to starting.
Occasional trainings and professional development opportunities
Flexible schedule within a monthly block schedule
Enjoys the outdoors, working with children, and being on a collaborative team
Protecting children and youth is core to TSC’s mission. We have a zero tolerance policy for any form of abuse or harassment. TSC carefully screens applicants and requires all staff to be Live Scanned (DOJ fingerprinting) and complete child abuse prevention and reporting requirements.
