Tom Sawyer Camps is a summer day camp in the Pasadena area for girls and boys ages 3-14. Since 1926, we have been committed to the idea that every child should experience carefree, constructive outdoor activities like Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher did. Our rustic location in Hahamongna Watershed Park, in the northern part of the Arroyo Seco, gives campers acres of wilderness to live out these adventures.
The day is split between scheduled activities where campers are taught swimming, horseback riding, archery and, for our Middle School campers, rock wall climbing, high ropes, and windsurfing. During free time, groups create and search for forts in “the desert”, build damns in the mud river, and compete in all manner of imaginative quests and challenges.
Since the 1970s, we have been a proud member of the American Camp Association and both rigorously follow their safety standards and guidelines, and self-submit to accreditation visits. We pride ourselves on our ability to select, train, and support amazing camp counselors, many of whom were Tom Sawyer campers themselves. It is these counselors’ ability to create new and exciting adventures for their groups and to listen and connect with campers as individuals that keeps hundreds of kids coming back to Tom Sawyer Camps year after year.
